well welll wellll
i wish i cud say i m inspired by the good to write this post... instead it's d bad, ugly truth of our bureaucracy..
last week i paid my 1st visit to an Indian court.. & astonishingly to bail out someone... they needed a salaried, tax payer earning above a certain amount etc & i fell right into the hole...i had no option to bail out of the catch this time.. it was a rude shock from the moment i stepped foot inside the court compound... we start gettin punished even b4 d judges actually annouce their judgement with the heat... there is no fan in the corridors & it was abso freakin lutely hot... i don't knw why the lawyers even have uniforms when there was nothin uniform abt their clothes at all - while 1 had a plain white shirt/black pant, the other a striped pair. While 1 wore formal shoes, the other wore sport shoes. Sum even wore sandals !!
There is no lift in the 3 storey buidling... helllllooo ever heard of being handicapped friendly !! All the poor elderly people had enormous trouble climbing up & down the steps..wat if a person suffers health issues & needs to be rushed 2 a hospital...they expect him/her to ba carried down all the 3 floors (Min time it wud take is 5 mins) eventually succumbing in the last place on earth any human would want to be. All the peons & employees there r sadistic oldies who derive pleasure from screwin every1 around... there r no chairs & i decided to pull 1 out of the several lying vacant inside those empty court rooms but guess wat... a peon realized 1 chair was missing & rapped me for it... it streches my mind 2 no extent tryin 2 figure out how a guy who had nothin to do except snore under d judge's nose suddenly trace this !
The image we've in our minds of courtrooms from Bollywood movies is screaming & loud voices everywhere, huge courtrooms etc - well i m sorry 2 shatter all that... the judges talk soo feebly - it luks as if they r afraid of deliverin the judgement ! Derz sheets of paper hangin outside courtrooms (handwritten) displayin wat cases r gonna b held there (1 cud easily jst erase a nae or even tear away a sheet without any guilt)... 2 sum it up i've got the mother of them all - We r all used to seeing piles of files stacked up in Govt offices right ?? But guess wat i saw... i saw a bird conveniently nested on top of it all in the heart of action... until l8r... adios amigoes... :-)

ReplyDeleteAnyway, a good post, I must say!
As told to u already Fadhel, hilarious to the core...
ReplyDeleteall facts in their true, albeit sad.
Reminds me of a time I went to the court. Nah, not for bail ;) , but to sort out a notarized stamp paper. From the time i stepped in to the time I decided to leave, and eventually left the premises, the argumentative penguins harried me...with their arguments, so-called logical bent of mind and sheer nonsense of course!
Hah!
Good one this, yet again! :)
Pretty sad condition of our Judiciary system....we are lacking proper system....and Law makers have become law breakers...
